T. Wade Wilson
T. Wade Wilson is a member of the Alabama Bar Association and the Tuscaloosa County Bar Association. His practice areas include real estate law, contract law, and business law. He is licensed to practice law in the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Alabama. Wade has extensive experience in all manners of real estate transactions, both residential and commercial.
Wade attended The University of Alabama where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science with a double minor in English and History in 1995. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from The University of Alabama School of Law in 1999, where he was a member of the Environmental Law Society and the Farrah Law Society. Wade, subsequently, also earned his Master of Business Administration from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
After graduating from law school, Wade stayed in Tuscaloosa and served as a political consultant with Southeastern Political Services, managing a variety of political campaigns as well as state initiative referendums. Utilizing his MBA, he spent two years at UBS Paine Webber as a financial advisor, where he held both a NASD Series 7 Securities Broker/Dealer License and a NASAA Series 66 Investment Advisor License.
Wade returned to law in 2005 working with Whatley-Drake, LLC in Birmingham, Alabama on complex litigation in the Mass Torts department. This led to an Assistant Vice President/Associate General Counsel position at Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, LLC (formerly Collateral Mortgage Capital, LLC), a national full-service leader in commercial and multifamily financing with a current servicing portfolio of more than $28 billion, offering a broad capital base that includes lending products from insurance companies, CMBS lenders, pension fund advisors, commercial banks, the Fannie Mae DUS Program, the Freddie Mac Seller/Servicer program, and FHA-insured loan products as well as its own proprietary lending platform. For eight years, Wade acted as Associate General Counsel for Grandbridge helping manage the company’s legal functions and oversee its internal closing department.
With a desire to move back into private practice, specifically in the Tuscaloosa area, Wade joined the Tuscaloosa law firm of Smith & Staggs, LLP in 2013 as partner where he focused on contract and real estate law while managing and growing the firm’s affiliate title company, Title Works, LLC.
In the spring of 2015, Wade joined Gilmore and Rowley, LLC adding to the firm’s resources and real estate transaction and title company capabilities.
Wade grew up in Monroeville, Alabama, and has lived in Tuscaloosa for eighteen years. He is married to Tut Wilson, and has two children, Sara Turner and Thomas, Jr. The Wilsons attend and are active in First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa. Wade has been involved in several community groups through the years, including board member of Family Counseling Services, the Tuscaloosa Chapter of the Red Elephant Club, and the Tuscaloosa Chapter of the University of Alabama Alumni Association.
