Laura J. Crissey
[email protected]Laura J. Crissey is originally from Andalusia, Alabama, and has lived in Tuscaloosa since 1998. Laura earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama in 2001, graduating magna cum laude. While in law school, she served as the Alabama Editor of the Alabama Law Review and was a member of the Farrah Law Society. Upon graduation, she was awarded membership in the prestigious Order of the Coif. Laura earned her undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Auburn University in English in 1997.
Laura is a member of the Alabama State Bar Association and the Tuscaloosa County Bar Association, for which she serves as chairperson of the Probate Committee. In addition to being licensed to practice law in Alabama, she holds a Mississippi law license.
After law school, Laura began her legal career practicing law at the Tuscaloosa firm of Rosen Harwood, P.A. Laura has extensive experience in civil litigation and trial practice. Her practice has focused primarily upon representing defendants in the area of insurance defense, but she has also represented a myriad of defense litigants. Further, she has also represented plaintiffs in catastrophic personal injury cases.
In 2007, Laura joined Regions Bank as Vice President and Trust Officer. While there, Laura assisted families to realize their estate planning, retirement and financial goals. She also administered complex probate estates. This unique experience has situated her to handle not only civil litigation matters, but also estate planning and probate issues.
In September of 2012, Laura joined the firm of Gilmore and Rowley, LLC as an attorney. She works primarily in the area of civil litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in numerous areas of the law. She also provides estate planning and probate services, and represents individuals who may be involved in complex or contested trust and estate proceedings.
Laura and her husband, Jeff, have two daughters, Madelyn and Ella. The Crisseys are members of First Presbyterian Church where Laura is a past Deacon and Elder. She has been active in the life of the church, serving on several committees, including pre-school, personnel, youth, capital campaign steering committee and stewardship and finance, for which she served as chairman.
